Your Connection to Your Loved Ones Didn’t Go Anywhere
You deserve to know how this works
I wanted to write this because I believe that a lot of people have the idea that they always have to pay someone every time they want to feel close or communicate with someone they love who has passed on. Mediums are definitely helpful, obviously, this is something I do, but I don’t think connection belongs only to mediums. I think people deserve a simple way to start noticing the communication that may already be happening around them.
A good medium can translate things, give you memories that they could not possibly have known about, they can validate what and who is coming through, and sometimes bring in clearer details. But that doesn’t mean you’re cut off from your own people.
So I want to give you a simple place to start. Nothing complicated, just what to ask, what to look for, and how to notice it without driving yourself crazy.
Now, first of all, people think this has to be dramatic, like it has to be a voice, a vision, or a full message, something obvious and impossible to miss, like the whole movie version of it.
But most of the time, it’s a lot quieter than that.
It usually comes in through everyday things. A song you weren’t expecting, a memory that just pops in, a random phrase you hear, a dream that feels a little more real than usual, even a smell or a thought that seems to come out of nowhere. Sometimes it’s just a feeling that they’re close.
And where people usually get in their own way is that they try too hard.
They ask for a sign or something, and then they immediately start looking for it, forcing it, then questioning it, then picking it apart.
Some do the opposite. They brush everything off as a coincidence.
And honestly, if you saw the way I see this stuff, you’d know I don’t believe in coincidence. I don’t believe for one minute we’re living in random chaos. I know we’re living in organized chaos. Things may look random from the outside, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t meaning moving underneath it.
So just ask once, then go live your day.
Say it out loud if you want, something simple like, “If you’re around me, send me something I’ll recognize,” and then leave it alone.
Don’t sit there waiting for something to happen. Go make coffee, go to work, fold laundry, walk the dog, whatever you were already going to do, and just stay open to what shows up naturally and practice awareness.
You might notice their song coming on out of nowhere, or someone saying something they used to say. You might remember something you haven’t thought about in years, or see something that immediately makes you think of them.
That’s usually how it starts.
And at the same time, not everything is a sign. Sometimes a feather is just a feather, and that’s fine. Human beings feel the need to force meaning to understand. Sometimes not knowing can be quite freeing.
This all works a lot better when you’re not trying to turn every little thing into proof.
When something does happen, don’t overcomplicate it. Just check in with yourself. Did it feel different in a way that made you pause for a second? Did it bring them close, even briefly? Did it feel personal?
That’s what you want to pay attention to.
If you want something more structured, here’s a simple way to try it.
Pick one loved one and say something like, “Send me something simple today that reminds me of you,” and then just go about your day and keep track of what happens.
Do that for about a week.
Don’t judge it while it’s happening. Just write things down as they come.
At the end of the week, go back and look at it. See if anything repeats or stands out. It could be the same kind of song, a name, a memory, a certain animal, a phrase you keep hearing, or even a feeling that shows up around the same time each day.
It usually gets clearer when you stop pushing and start noticing.
And yes, pets are still around, too.
People ask me that all the time.
Once again, say something like, “Send me something simple today that reminds me of you.”
With animals, it’s often even simpler. You might feel them jump on the bed, hear something that sounds like their collar, dream about them being healthy again, feel them near you, or just suddenly remember something they used to do that hits a little deeper than usual.
Love doesn’t just disappear because the body is gone.
Obviously, mediumship itself is a lot more involved than this. There are more moving parts, more discernment, and a lot more happening behind the scenes. But this is a good place to start. You don’t have to understand the whole machine to begin noticing when something is trying to get your attention.
So if you want a simple way to approach this, it’s this.
Ask, let it go, notice, write it down, and don’t force it.
That’s enough.
You don’t have to become a medium to have a relationship with your loved ones in spirit.
You just have to ask, let go, and pay attention without turning it into a test.
So hopefully this helps you start noticing things for yourself.
And if you need more validation, that’s okay, too. That’s what a reading can help with.
A medium is trained to pick up on things you might miss because you don’t always trust what you’re getting yet. That’s part of what validation is.
A good medium isn’t there to replace your connection. They’re there to help validate it, bring through clearer details, and give you confirmation when you’re not sure what you’re picking up on.
So yes, if you feel like you need that support, you can always book with a medium. Maybe even me. Lol.
But I don’t want you believing that a medium is the only way your loved ones can reach you.
They are always trying to reach you.
Sometimes a reading just helps you trust what’s already been happening.
So start noticing. Start talking to them. Say the thing out loud. Ask for something simple. Then go live your life and pay attention.
You may be surprised by what starts showing up.
This meditation is for anyone who wants to connect with a loved one or a pet on the other side but doesn't know where to begin. It's short, it's simple, and it doesn't require you to be a medium or have any experience. Just a quiet few minutes and a willingness to notice.
